Psychologist

The role of our School Psychologists is to assist the school’s intervention team in determining the best practices to promote a student’s academic, behavioral, and/or social success.

The involvement of a school psychologist typically begins with a referral from a teacher or staff member. Working with an intervention team, the psychologist will guide the process of implementing strategies that target areas of need for the student. Over time, the progress is recorded and evaluated for its effectiveness. In the event more intensive intervention is needed or the response to the interventions does not meet the project goals, the school psychologist may begin the process of formalized testing of the student. Throughout the process, the school psychologist works with family and school staff to develop programming to meet the needs of the student and promote success and self confidence.
