Wickliffe Elementary School serves children in pre-school through fourth grade who reside within Wickliffe City limits. The elementary school is located at 1821 Lincoln Road, right next to the Public Library and in close proximity to the Middle School. Enrollment each year is around 570 students. Perhaps this human element is the best attribute of all in our school. Dedicated and caring faculty and staff have created a wonderful school environment for children and a strong working relationship with parents and the PTO. We support each other in promoting the best for children in the Wickliffe community.
Wickliffe Elementary School has many strengths of which the community is justly proud. Although the original building was completed in 1923, and there have been several additions over the years, the building retains a special charm. Wickliffe Elementary incorporates the best of a small, hometown school atmosphere with the modern educational practices one would expect to see in a busy suburban area.
Our school reflects the long-standing traditions of the Wickliffe community in its warm, nurturing environment and embraces the technology and skills our students will need to further their learning into their adult years. Technology and Science Lab experiences are part of every student’s weekly schedule at WES; as is instruction in Physical Education, Art, Music and Library Resources. Distance Learning opportunities literally bring the world into our school via our lab resources.
The combined efforts of our community, families and staff have propelled Wickliffe Elementary School into excellence by many measures. The State of Ohio consistently rates Wickliffe Elementary as “Excellent” based on student achievement scores on annual state assessments. More importantly, our students, through their commitment to achieving their “personal best” demonstrate that Wickliffe Elementary is an excellent place to begin their lifelong journey of learning.
