The Wickliffe Preschool Program

WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF PRESCHOOL!!

The Wickliffe City School District provides high-quality preschool programming to children between the ages of 3-5. Our preschool is licensed by the Ohio Department of Education and earned 5 STARS from Ohio’s quality rating system, Step Up To Quality (SUTQ). We follow a state-approved curriculum that is aligned to the Ohio Early Childhood Content Standards. Our goal is to prepare all children for Kindergarten and we do this by implementing all five developmental domains; fine/gross motor, communication, adaptive/cognitive skills, and social/emotional. In addition to the five developmental domains, we realize the importance of children learning how to compromise, be respectful to others, and problem solve. Preschool provides a place where your child can gain a sense of self, explore, play with peers and build confidence.

In order to meet every child's individual needs, we assess every child through a variety of methods including play-based, observation, and parent interviews and questionnaires. In some cases, children need further evaluations and may qualify for specialized services in the areas of occupational, speech/language, or physical therapy.

Peer Screening

The WCSD Preschool will conduct peer screenings for the 2023-2024 school year on April 28th and May 5th.  An appointment is required.  More information - Peer Screening Flyer
