Operating Income

 
Local Taxes
The greatest portion of our operating income is derived from local taxes levied on the assessed valuation of real property located within the school district.

State Revenue
Unrestricted grants-in-aid may be used for any legal purpose desired by the school district. Wickliffe City Schools receives unrestricted grants-in-aid in the form of school foundation basic allowance, homestead and rollback property tax allocation, and reimbursements for pupil transportation, tuition, and school bus purchases.

Other Sources
The smallest percentage of our income is derived from investment of our inactive funds, student classroom fees, building rentals, and reimbursements.

Expenditures

 
Salaries, Wages, Fringe Benefits
The majority of our operating income is expended for certified and classified employee salaries and retirement and insurance benefits.

Purchased Services
Operating income expended for personal services rendered by contractors who are not on the payroll of the school district and for services, i.e., insurance, repairs, postage, printing, utilities, tuition, and student transportation.

Materials, Supplies, Textbooks
Operating income expended for consumable office supplies, instructional classroom materials, textbooks, library books, newspapers, periodicals, films, and supplies to maintain and/or repair buildings and equipment.

Capital Outlay
Operating income expended for remodeling buildings, purchasing new equipment and furnishings for our buildings, and school buses and their replacement.

Other Expenditures
Operating income expended for educational dues and fees, board memberships, professional memberships, insurance, election expenses, county auditor and treasurer fees, state examiner auditing fees, property assessments, and employee bonding.
