Mr. Sharp’s Class Rules and Syllabus

 

Rules:

1)      Be Punctual

-          I expect you to be in your seat when the bell rings

2)      Be Prepared

-          I expect you to bring all class materials with you everyday: book, notebook, pencil, and calculator (TI - 30).

3)      Be Polite

-          Treat others with respect

-          Follow directions

4)      All other rules and regulations listed in your student handbook will be followed (Dress Code, IPODS, Cell Phones, ect.)

 

*Disrupting the class takes valuable time away from those who want to learn

 

Consequences: (These steps will be taken when rules are broken unless there are serious issues that warrant more severe punishment)

 

1)      Verbal Warning

2)      Student/Teacher Conference

3)      Phone Call Home

4)      Detention

5)      Office Referral

 

 

Other Classroom Policies:

 

1)      If you are absent, it is your responsibility to check the assignment sheet for the assignments you missed. You will have two days to make up the assignment you missed

2)      Hall and restroom passes will be given sparingly, take care of these needs before class 

3)      I expect you to stay in your seat until the bell rings. Do not line up by the door.

4)      Cheating or talking during a test or quiz will result in an automatic zero

 

Grading Policy:

 

1)      Homework assignments will be worth five points or ten points.
 -Assignments can be turned in for FULL credit until the DAY OF a Quiz over the concept.
-Assignments turned in AFTER a quiz over a concept will receive NO CREDIT.

2)      Quizzes or tests will be given about once a week and are normally worth twenty to sixty points.
 

Keys to Success:

 1)      Come to class on time with your materials

2)      Complete homework assignments

3)       If you need help, ask.

-          If you do not understand something during a lesson, put your hand up and stop me. There are no stupid questions.
