Superintendent's Update

From Superintendent Chokshi's Desk:

As we wrap up the school year, I’ve been reflecting on the excitement, pride, and gratitude that define this moment. For our seniors and for our entire community, the future is bright and we could not be prouder.

You are also aware that Wickliffe voters approved Issue 3, the 1% Earned Income Tax, a few weeks ago. I want to again express my sincere appreciation to everyone who participated in the process. This vote was not only a powerful statement of support for our students, but it also gave me the opportunity to meet many of you, have meaningful conversations about school funding, and ways we can improve our district.

It’s important to remember that revenue from this levy will not begin until our first collections in April 2027. Even so, after reviewing our updated financial forecast, we are pleased to share that we can begin restoring some of the reductions made earlier this year.

For the 2026–27 school year, we will be:

Bringing back one full‑day kindergarten class
Adjusting the transportation zone to 1.75 miles -  Please call transportation (Brett) at 440-943-7739 if further clarification is needed.
Restoring choir in a reduced capacity
Reducing pay‑to‑participate fees to more reasonable levels

You can find more details about kindergarten, transportation, pay‑to‑participate, and school times HERE

We will continue exploring cost‑effective options and will update you if we are able to provide additional elective opportunities at both schools.

To the Class of 2026, you have carried yourselves with pride, resilience, and grace throughout a demanding year. We could not be more proud of you. Congratulations on all you have accomplished!
