Each Child, Our Future - Ohio’s strategic plan for education - seeks to ensure each student is challenged, prepared, and empowered for his/her future by way of an excellent PK-12 education. Ohio’s schools can succeed by meeting the needs of the whole child-
the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual aspects of a child’s well-being.
With House Bill 166, passed in July 2019, Ohio invested $675 million to help districts and schools support their students' academic achievement through mental health counseling, wraparound services, mentoring, and after school programs. School districts will work with local organizations to determine community needs, and then use the state dollars to make the greatest impact on students’ lives. It is estimated that over the next two years, the WCSD will receive over $290,000.00 to support our wellness programming for students. In Governor DeWine's letter to school leaders he specifically mentions the Wickliffe City Schools and their efforts through the Family Resource Center as a model of providing such services.
The Family Resource Center and our Student Ten Year Plan (career and workforce development) have both received recognition from the State for innovation and forward thinking. The district is a leader in creating and participating in internship programs, entrepreneurship efforts, career and workforce development and support services for students and families. We are proud to be part of a district and community that values its children and the entire community. The Wickliffe City School District: Inspiring Students to Learn, Lead, and Serve.
